Global Health at OSUCOM

LIGHT's Work with the Curriculum

LIGHT is currently partnering with OSUCOM’s ACE (Academic Curricular Enhancement) Committee to implement global and public health into the preclinical curriculum. Keep an eye out for these changes in future classes!

Academics

Various classes are available for those interested in global health at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. Students can enroll in courses across various graduate schools, from pharmacy to public health, to work towards a global health certificate. The fourth year elective has also been very popular, giving students an opportunity to experience healthcare across South America, Africa, and Asia.

Extracurriculars

Student organizations at OSUCOM coordinate service trips abroad during winter and summer breaks. LIGHT frequently collaborates with other organizations to host speakers and events promoting global health. Throughout the year, the student-run free clinics also offer opportunities to work with patients from around the world.
